LearnPlay Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that develops and successfully makes use of innovative ways of engagement. We understand that many young people do not flourish within the traditional educational system and feel disaffected towards learning and educational achievement. These disengaged youth are costly to the school system and must be encouraged back into learning in order to allow them to fulfill their potential.
LearnPlay Foundation works closely with Primary and Secondary schools and Pupil Referral Units to help re-engage young people back into mainstream education. We develop specialised programmes utilising age-specific computer games, interactive digital media and learning games. We spend time with our clients working towards the identification of key goals and milestones that must be reached and delivered within our carefully customisedprogrammes. Our aim is to provide a total solution to engagement issues.
We understand that a child’s learning benefits from a supportive home environment; sadly, this is not always the case. To help with this, we work with schools to deliver specialisedfamily learning programmes where parent or careralong with the child learn to learn, play and work together and develop shared interests. We see these as integral to communication, understanding and supporting the family structure.
The company also delivers programmes to care homes and other organisations in the wider community. Care home delivery allows seniors to undertake light physical activities and more taxing mental activities. Both are fundamental to general well-being and alertness at this stage of life. The programme also provides mutual points of reference for the seniors and their children/grandchildren.
The majority of LearnPlay Foundation programmes culminate in an awards ceremony where certificates and prizes are distributed to attendees. Incentives are also provided to encourage participation from the hard to reach groups.
Our work has been recognised at Government level and through partnership we aim to continue in our efforts to develop new and innovative engagement and learning programmes.
Our vision is to enrich and enhance people lives through innovative engagement and the softer approach of play.
